Being in the late stages of my second pregnancy and an ocean away from London, has only made me think of what a luxury having Louise for my entire first pregnancy was.
Louise was super-attentive during my entire pregnancy while never tiring of all my 'first-time mother' questions. She always wore a smile on her face and brought her bubbly personality to our home even if she had been up the night before attending to a birth.
But more important to me than Louise's lovely personality was her ability to instinctively respect all my boundaries during the birthing process. She was exactly how I needed her to be. I felt safe, secure and honoured. My easeful birth experience was in no doubt due to her integrity as a skilful midwife.
Her postnatal care was also priceless. She helped me through some very difficult breastfeeding issues with practical hands-on solutions. Louise knew how important breastfeeding was to me and at a time when most midwives would have offered a bottle she offered more support to meet my goals.
If an attentive, skilful midwife is who you are looking for then look no further. Louise is definitely the answer.
